Fused Glass Jewellery Courses

A Fused glass Jewel
with dichroic glass

Glass is a wonderful and versatile material. It is possible to assemble pieces in imaginative patterns and fuse them together into beautiful "gems" which make fascinating jewellery items. On one of our one-day courses you will make many "jewels", experimenting with different types and colours of glass (including dichroic glass, which gives gorgeous metallic effects). When you find a favourite design you can make a set of jewellery (earrings and a pendant, for instance) and you will also learn how to attach "findings" (jewellery accessories such as bails for pendants, or earring posts) to them.

Lampwork (Glass Bead-Making) Courses

Glass can be used to make beautiful beads which can be assembled into necklaces and bracelets, or combined with fused glass 'jewels' into more complex pieces. Our courses will introduce you to the basics of lampwork (using a gas blow-torch to melt glass and form beads in any number of fascinating designs). You will be able to make several beads of different shapes and colours to take home.

Course Prices

All of the courses run from 10.00 am to about 4.30 pm, although we will not kick you out on the dot of 4.30 if you are in the middle of something!
Our Courses cost £100 per day, which includes glass and other materials, the use of all tools and equipment needed, and also a light lunch and a steady supply of tea and coffee throughout the day.
Lunch usually consists of home-made soup with fresh bread, followed by a selection of fruit, yogurts or cakes.
We offer a discount of £10 per day if you take more than one course at a time, so combining both Glass Jewellery courses would cost £180, while taking all four courses (the Jewellery-making ones and both Stained Glass ones) would cost £360. This discount does not apply in conjunction with any other offer.

Times and Other Stuff

A Mirror transformed by a
Stained Glass Surround

We run our Glass Jewellery courses on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays and you can do either technique on any of those days. Please see below for the specific dates.
We run our Stained Glass courses on the Saturday and Sunday before the Monday Jewellery courses, and also on the Thursday and Friday between the Jewellery weekday and weekend courses, so that if you wish to do all four courses, it is possible to take them over a single 4-day period (or 5 days during the week, with a day off on Wednesday).
